OUR
HISTORY
In
1953, the family of "Schwarze" purchased the "Peter Wirtz" company who
had been producing tube cold bending machines since 1930. At that time,
the name was changed to Schwarze-Wirtz KG.
Due
to management changes and a concentration on new technology, the
company gained worldwide recognition as a high quality tube bending
machine manufacturer. In 1965, they built their first automatic
machines with numerical control. The next 10 years included these
important mile stones:
- 1970
- Construction and manufacture of our own numerical controls.
Construction of the largest tube cold bending machine ever manufactured
in the world with a capacity to bend 14" OD x 1.4" wall pipe and
equipped with automatic loading over mandrel, powered positioning
device and numerical control
- 1975
- Design and construction of full automatic tube bending machines for
the automotive, power boiler and shipbuilding industries.
- 1978
-Introduction of our own CNC control.
- 1986
- Introduction of Multi-stacked tool machines.
- 1995
- Introduction of the TWIN dual head bending machine.
- 1996
- Introduction of the PC CNC control using an industrial grade F IBM
compatible computer.
In
1996, Schwarze-Wirtz merged with Robitec, which brought new state of
the art computer technology to their already proven machine
construction and bending technology. In 1997, the name was changed to
Schwarze-Robitec GmbH.
During this period, the standard single axis bending machine control
was upgraded to a PLC control. This continued our commitment to provide
state of the art technology to our complete line of bending machines.
Today Schwarze-Robitec is manufacturing in seven work bays covering
an area of over 225,000 Sq Ft. Hundreds of CNC machines have been
supplied to different industries all over the world.
Schwarze-Wirtz first began marketing their bending machines in North
America in 1984. In 1996, SWR America LLC, became the Exclusive
Distributor for Schwarze-Robitec in North America with offices in South
Carolina and Michigan. TOGR, INC., with offices located in Michigan became the spare parts and service agent.
